AKC has accepted white boxers in their registry but they do not recommend them be used for breeding. White boxers are known for having more health issues such as blindness, deafness and having more skin problems. Some white boxers do not have any more issues than the color boxers. Many are beautiful boxers and can live normal lives as the color boxers.
Some breeders don't mind if they have white pups in their litters. They continue breeding the same way and still end up with white pups. This occurs in your show dogs also, where the breeder is after a certain type of dog to please the judge in the ring and might not be as concerned about how many white pups they produce.
As to date, we have had only one litter that had white pups in the litter. We do not euthanize white pups. We do not sell them at outrages prices as we try to find good homes for them because they may not show any health problems as puppies but the health issues may develop as they get older. We don't want to pass health issues on to you.
If you accept a white puppy from us, we will assume that you are prepared to take on the expenses, responsibility and the emotional stress and worry that white boxers may have. Still, they are not to be given up to shelters, pounds or put into boxer rescue centers.
If you can no longer keep them, please contact us first.
The puppy shown above is from another breeder I know. This pup/dog resides in Alaska.
